Haven’t seen the show? It may be right up your alley if you’re a fantasy or myth lover.
I find the witty dialogue difficult not to enjoy and more importantly it’s chalk full of creativity. Some fantasy shows are repetitive, but not Merlin. The writers manage to come up with fresh exciting themes and magical creatures without being cheesy or sacrificing good storyline in the process. The cast does an equally wonderful job.
I’m not completely caught up on the show but I have to say The Gates of Avalon is one
of my favorite episodes so far. If I had to pinpoint what makes that episode
particularly memorable, I would say it is the mystical quality.

Overall, I suppose as an artist and writer what I take to heart from the show is the
importance of strong characterization. While the visual effects and creative
magical elements are delectable candy for a fantasy lover, the uniquely
portrayed personality of each person on the show is what really demands my
loyalty as a viewer.
