Cinderella, Midnight… Behave
A Writing Prompt Exercise:
A couple months ago I entered a fun little contest at Writer’s Digest and figured I would share the details with you all.
Prompt: Write the opening sentence to a story (25 words or fewer) incorporating these three words: Cinderella, midnight and behave.
This was my entry:
People tell me to behave and stop nibbling on day dreams like Cinderella, but I tell them it hasn’t struck midnight yet.
The contest is over and I didn’t win but it was a very fun exercise. The winning entries are still posted at Writer’s Digest if you want to check them out, and I would recommend you do because they are very good.
