depths of R2’s soul. His experiences stretch far beyond his time with Anakin or
Luke. In fact, what R2 has never revealed to his friends in a galaxy far far
away, is that he once vacationed on Earth.

So enamored with his stay on Earth, R2 even briefly took up
residency in America. That was when he met his best friend, Roy O’Bannon. He
spent years hi-jacking trains and living the good life, until the Shanghai kid
showed up.

R2 and Roy could have cared less about Chon Wang’s (TheShanghai Kid) difficulties. But when the three wound up in close quarters
causing Roy and R2 to be pulled into Chon Wang’s mess, R2 saw Princess Pei Pei
for the first time, and fell in love. Gun fire and arrows were unlikely matches
for R2s futuristic laser guns. Without any help he saved Princess Pei Pei from Fo
Long, her kidnapper. Sadly, R2’s heart was forever scarred when Princess Pei
Pei ran off with Chon Wang.
Saddened by the loss of his one true love, R2 never
recovered. Still, he refused to abandoned his best friend, Roy. They drank and
hi-jacked trains for the remainder or Roy’s years until his passing. That was
the story that brought about R2’s journey back to a galaxy far far away. Ever
since his heartbreak, R2 has uttered only high pitched sad squeals instead of
words. Though he could never fathom it possible, only if ever his heart loves
again will R2-D2’s soul be whole. Only then will he again speak words.
