Sleeping Beauty light bulb and Fairy Tale book recommendation list
A light bulb went off you guys!
I was developing my idea list for art and stories. After jotting down a few concepts I paused and thought “what are my very, very favorite kinds of stories?”
Anything fantasy is wonderdul, but I came to the conclusion that I have a soft spot for classic fairy tales and retellings of those tales. Then I thought about my favorite disney classics, which naturally came to mind first when thinking of fairy tales. Bam! It hit me. A retelling of Sleeping Beauty attacked me out of the blue and I’m just thrilled to play with the concept.

Once the excitement wore off and I talked my poor husband’s ear off about it, I naturally started the research process. There is so much research ahead of me before I take this book idea on, but it occured to me that those of you with a shared love of fantasy might be interested in reading a few selections from the list of fairy tale books I compilied from goodreads, friends and family recommendations.
What I was looking for were some dark fairy tales as well as retellings. So here is the list, hope you guys enjoy…
